Tapmotifians [tap-motίf-ians] = humans that have experienced tapmotif
The “TapMotif” idea was born in Athens two years ago, while discussing with tap master Heather Cornell after a jam session. A continuous flirt with the idea of a new event, led to the concept of a gathering, which besides regular classes would offer everyone the chance to express their musical selves through tap and create comprehensive collaborations amongst each others and musicians. To achieve the perfect conditions, in order to capture the spirit of the idea, the environment of an island was selected as the ideal location. Further more, the specific choice of a cultural crossroad and fertile land for fusing and evolving artistic ideas like Lefkada Island completed our image of the puzzle.
And the idea became a plan and the plan became the dream, which came true in 2007 with the 1st tapmotif festival. The strong presence and vibe of every single person that joined last year (now officially referred to as Tapmotifians), gave us a unique amount of energy to keep working towards the same goals and now invite you to the 2nd annual festival.
